The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-GRAM G] Act, 2025 is a landmark legislation enacted by the Parliament of India to strengthen rural livelihoods and promote sustainable, inclusive rural development in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Pursuant to Section 3 of the Act, the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 2026 was notified on 30 June 2026 and extends to all rural areas of the Union Territory. The Scheme is being implemented with effect from 01 July 2026 in place of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Beneficiary:
The Scheme is intended for: Rural households residing in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Adult members of rural households willing to undertake unskilled manual work. Women, Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), differently-abled persons, and other vulnerable rural communities. Self-Help Groups (SHGs), village institutions, and rural communities benefiting from the creation of community assets and livelihood infrastructure.
